The Rules of this game are extremely simple, yet leave all people playing, voluntarily or involuntarily, obliterated after a few rounds.
Since its creation on the 8th of April in 2010, this game has given both the students of age, and not of age, a reason to drink. It started out as what was meant to be a joke towards someone, but ended up being a go-to game over time. This game has gone by many names, however the most common two are "Don't catch the Al" and "Remember the ALamo." Laughs have been had, and tears have been shed, but in the end we all end up with the same feeling, drunk. As many students from Loyola know, with drinking comes hunger, and who can think of a better way to satisfy that hunger than with a cheap 2 topping pizza from Roma's Little Italy.
While some individuals believe that there are better ways of spending time, like studying accounting, others choose to have a laugh with their companions, however fearing they might "catch the AL." This fear is only elevated with the haunting sound that is Ke$she singing about nothing meaningful in the world. So, reader of this blog, I leave you here, part of the tale has been told, and more of it is to come, but for now one must understand what is needed for the game, and how to enjoy it. Without further adieu...the rules of "Dont...Catch...the AL."
***ALL PEOPLE MUST YELL AND SCREAM AT ANYTHING INVOLVING 3***
Objects needed to play:
- Deck of cards
- Funnel (or something to use to shotgun)
- Ke$sha playlist
- Any amount of players, however works best with more than 3 people
The concept:
Any individual who flips a 3 has to funnel or shotgun.
The rules:
- Take a COMPLETE deck of cards and scatter them around on the table or floor.
- When ready all players must grab 1 card and leave it face down.
- Once everyone has picked a card, flip the cards over and if a 3 of any suit is chosen, that lucky individual must funnel, shotgun, or take a shot.
- If said individual refuses to funnel, shotgun, or take a shot, they are now referred to as the "Al" of the group and get ridiculed mercilessly.
